This is as close to roughing it as it gets at Poronui… Safari Camp provides a unique opportunity to enjoy impressive backcountry isolation whilst not forgoing creature comforts like crisp cotton sheets, hot running water and flushing toilets. Two canvas tents on wooden platforms and separate dining space make up your rustic, unplugged base camp.
The guided walks explore the more remote corners of the property with a chance to view and photograph some of our indigenous flora, fauna and herds of deer. This is a unique opportunity to retrace the steps of early settlers, deer cullers, fishers, hunters and pioneering farmers. A sightseeing helicopter ride is part of the experience.
3 nights double / twin accommodation at Safari Camp, provisions for breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner from the Poronui Kitchen, non-alcoholic drinks, house wine and beer, use of the Stables facilities – Snooker Room, Sauna, Steam Room and Gym, 2 days guided walking and a 15-minute scenic helicopter flight.
