The Triple Sporting Clays Shooting Challenge was once again held at Poronui. Simon Dickie and the Eastern team hosted this exciting event. Three teams, the North, the East and the West challenged the reigning champions from the South.
Following very unsettled weather the day was one of those pet days with blue sky and no wind. Competition was fierce and the birds flew straight and true.
The twenty trap layout was certainly put to the test with singles, pairs and flurries the order of the day. A keen eye was essential as two guns competed side by side.
The course with its multiple shooting stations provided a terrific day of sport.
Nobody was exempt from heckling and points were won and lost throughout. At the end of the day, with a glass of champagne in hand, congratulations once again went to the South.
Strategies are already in place for June 2011.
