COVID-19: Discover Poronui's COVID-19 policies and procedures
The Poronui Table with Chef Martin Bosley and Winemaker Larry McKenna

You're invited to join our whanau and friends on a wonderful weekend of storytelling, fine food and wine.

Get ready for a weekend like no other – wonderful flavours, perfectly paired wines and a cultural journey of Poronui. With a combination of fine dining and food discovery across a long weekend, this is a journey of the land that shouldn’t be missed.

Martin’s Friday night degustation menu promises to be exciting and innovative with wonderful flavours, paired perfectly with sensational wines.

On Saturday, “The Prince of Martinborough Pinot Noir”, Larry McKenna will host A Sense of Place wine tasting, treating guests to the tastes and tales of 10 wines from the Martinborough region, as part of a series of food matchings that culminate in a shared dinner from our land.

Experience the spiritual view of traditional cooking on Sunday with Tom Loughlin owner and Director at ‘The Kai Waho Experience’ before a late checkout of 3pm.

The Poronui Table weekend includes

Two nights’ accommodation at the Lodge, formal degustation dinner with Martin Bosley on Friday night with matched wines in the wine cellar.  A fun and informative Saturday afternoon begins with Larry McKenna hosting A Sense of Place winetasting, which flows into a relaxed shared dinner from the land. On Sunday, hikoi or stroll with Tom as the day’s journey unfolds. A blessing attached to lighting the ‘Ahi’ or Hangi fire, share in stories of the land, while preparing, cooking and enjoying your Hangi lunch before a late departure at 3pm.

As one of New Zealand’s finest chefs, Martin Bosley fosters a food philosophy inspired by the wealth of great local ingredients available in our beautiful country. He is well known for being able to present the New Zealand culture on a plate filled with diverse flavours and stellar produce.

Larry McKenna might easily be described as the Prince of Martinborough Pinot Noir and has been inducted into the NZ Wine Hall of Fame.

Kai Waho can be translated as outdoor cuisine. It can also describe a master, or teacher, of the ways of the wilderness.
