Terms of Trade


These terms of trade apply to all dealings between Poronui and its customers. A customer enters into a contract and is bound by these terms of trade on placing a reservation or “booking” with Poronui.

 

Individual Reservation Confirmation


To confirm a booking a deposit of 25% of the accommodation and guide fee is required to be paid by the customer. Payment of the deposit is confirmation of acceptance of these terms and conditions by the customer.Poronui is under no obligation to place or maintain that booking until the deposit has been paid. The balance of the accommodation and guide fees must be paid to Poronui at least 60 days prior to the scheduled date for arrival at Poronui. Any extras e.g. licences, helicopter charges, access fees etc. are payable by the customer prior to departure from Poronui.


Cancellation of Individual Reservation

If a booking is cancelled at the customer’s request or by reason of the default or other conduct of the customer and Poronui is unable to replace that booking with another comparable booking the following applies:

  • 100% of the accommodation fee will be charged to the customer if a booking is cancelled within 60 days prior to the date that the customer is scheduled to arrive at Poronui or if the customer does not take up and pay for the accommodation booked; and
  • 100% of the guiding fee will be charged to the customer if a booking is cancelled within 14 days prior of the date that the customer is scheduled to arrive at Poronui or if the customer does not take up and pay for the guiding booked; and
  • If the customer cancels the booking before the date that is 60 days prior to the date that the customer is scheduled to arrive at Poronui then the customer will receive a full refund of its deposit and other monies paid by it to Poronui.

Group Reservation Confirmation

In order to confirm a reservation for a group a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total accommodation and guide fees is required to be paid to Poronui within 15 days after the customer confirms the booking. Payment of the deposit is confirmation of acceptance of these terms and conditions by the customer.Poronui is under no obligation to place or maintain that booking until the deposit has been paid.

The balance of the accommodation and guide fees must be paid to Poronui at least 60 days prior to the date that the group is scheduled to arrive at Poronui. Any extras e.g. licences, helicopter charges, access fees etc. are payable by the customer prior to departure from Poronui.


Cancellation of Group Reservation

If a booking is cancelled by the customer or by reason of the default or other conduct of the customer and Poronui is unable to replace that group booking with another comparable booking the following applies:

  • 100% of the accommodation fees and guiding fees will be charged if a booking is cancelled within 60 days prior to the date that the customer is scheduled to arrive at Poronui or if the customer does not take up and pay for the accommodation booked; and
  • If the customer cancels the booking before the date that is 60 days prior to the date that the customer is scheduled to arrive at Poronui then any deposit paid by the customer will be forfeited and not refunded by Poronui but any other monies paid by the customer to Poronui will be refunded by Poronui to the customer.

Hosted Groups

The minimum group size is 10 people on a share twin basis for both accommodation and guiding – 9 paying guests and 1 FOC. Poronui does not accept hosted groups during the months of January and February.


Hosted Group Confirmation

In order to confirm a reservation for a hosted group a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total accommodation and guide fees for the group is required to be paid to Poronui within 30 days of booking the reservation. Payment of the deposit is confirmation of acceptance of these terms and conditions by the customer. Poronui is under no obligation to place or maintain that booking until the deposit has been paid.

The balance of the total accommodation and guide fees for the group must be paid to Poronui at least 60 days prior to the date that the hosted group is scheduled to arrive at Poronui. Any extras e.g. licences, helicopter charges, access fees etc. are payable by the clients prior to departure from Poronui.


Cancellation of Hosted Group Reservations

If a hosted group booking is cancelled at the customer’s request or by reason of the default or other conduct of the customer and Poronui is unable to replace that cancelled booking with another comparable booking then the following applies:

  • 100% of the accommodation fees and guiding fees will be charged if a booking is cancelled within 60 days prior to the date that the hosted group is scheduled to arrive at Poronui or if the customer does not take up and pay for the accommodation booked; or
  • If the customer cancels the booking before the date that is 60 days prior to the date that the customer is scheduled to arrive at Poronui then any deposit paid by the customer will be forfeited and not refunded by Poronui but any other monies paid by the customer to Poronui will be refunded by Poronui to the customer.

Cancellation by Poronui

(Whether an individual, group or hosted booking).The nature of the business of Poronui means that not all bookings can be honoured. If a booking is cancelled by Poronui (through no fault of the customer), then Poronui will use its best efforts to advise the customer in advance and will refund any deposit and other monies paid to Poronui by the customer.
Poronui is only liable to refund the deposit and other monies paid to it by the customer and accepts no liability nor is it responsible for paying for any other costs, expenses or losses suffered or incurred by the customer or any other person by reason of Poronui canceling the booking and whether such costs, expenses or losses are directly or indirectly related to such cancellation. By way of example but not limitation, customer costs for airfares, insurance, or other accommodation will not be met by Poronui.


Travel Insurance

Replacing an existing booking at the last minute is often difficult for Poronui. Therefore we strongly recommend full travel insurance, including trip cancellation and interruption, baggage protection, medical expenses, accidental death and dismemberment, emergency evacuation and repatriation, and emergency assistance service. There are a number of reputable vacation insurance companies.


Payment

All prices listed are for payments by cash. Prices are quoted in US dollars and are inclusive of a 12.5% Goods and Services Tax. Poronui Ranch accepts cash, traveller’s cheques, personal cheques and all major credit cards including American Express, Visa, and MasterCard. A 2% surcharge applies to all credit card transactions. EFTPOS facilities are available however limits apply.
