Taupo airport is the closest to Poronui. There are more frequent flights to Napier and Rotorua.
Driving Directions to Poronui
Take State Highway 5 from Taupo towards Napier for 25km (15 minutes). Turn right into Taharua Road (signage for Taharua Road is on the left hand side of the road). Travel down Taharua Road for 21km. At our boundary there is a river-stone wall on either side of the road with ‘PORONUI’ written on the left hand wall. Continue past these walls. The last part of Taharua Road has a gravel surface – drive with care. At the end of Taharua Road is our electronic gate right across the road. On the wall on the left of the gate is the sign ‘PORONUI’.
Immediately before the gate on the right is a stone pillar with a key pad. Press “LODGE” for the Lodge and identify yourself to the lodge staff, who can open the gate automatically. Proceed to a curved river-stone wall on the right-hand side of the road with the sign ‘Poronui’. Take the entrance to the right immediately before the sign. This will bring you through the pine trees to the Lodge.
If you are driving from Napier, take State Highway 5 towards Taupo. Approximately 6km past the Rangitaiki Lodge (pub/tea rooms on north side of State Highway 5) turn left into Taharua Road (signage for Taharua Road is on the right). Refer above paragraph for directions from this point.

Driving Directions to Glazebrook
Drive south past Blenheim airport for approximately 2.5 km. Turn left onto state highway 63. Drive a further 2.5 km along SH 63 taking the second turn on left into Waihopai Valley Road. Drive for about one hour up Waihopai Valley Road. The road turns to gravel after which you will proceed through a farm called Stronvar. Turn left through a gate immediately before turning to the right to cross a bridge over the river. The gate is marked by a large sign indicating “Access by arrangement only”. Come through that gate drive up the track until you come to another gate saying GLAZEBROOK.
Getting to Glazebrook
Blenheim is the closest airport to Glazebrook. Most flights from the northern hemisphere land at Auckland International Airport. The flight from Auckland to Blenheim takes 90 minutes. The Trans Tasman flights fly direct to Wellington. The flight time from Wellington to Blenheim is 25 minutes.
